Growing up with a frequently mispronounced* last name taught me to notice details, especially the ones that make people feel seen. When someone gets my name right, it sticks with me.
That's why words matter so much to me. I love shaping language until it feels true to the person it's meant for. I care about people, and I try to let that care live in the words I write.
